Weapons: Curved, single-edge sword similar to saber, but lacking the hand cover. Hilt-guard is in the shape of a wolf's head, with falcon wings attached. Wings and head are brightmetal with gold inlay. Rubies are set into the wolf's eyes. Hilt is long enough for a two-handed grip. Scabbard is designed to conceal the hilt-guard. Hunting knife.Jewelry: Green cloth headband, triangular shaped pendant with an emerald, sapphire, and ruby set at the top, left, and right points. Both pendant and chain are brightmetal.
Outfit Most Often Worn: Sleeveless open-front tunic, upper half light blue, lower half light grey. Midriff lacing. Cream-colored breeches, outside seam open to knee. Tan catskin boots, white sword belt, bright green headband, knotted to one side.
Personality and History
Airwolf's parents were captured by trolls. He was born in captivity. Though his parents appeared subservient and broken, they secretly taught him all they knew about his heritage and what it meant to be free, to be a wolfrider. The first chance they got, they escaped, Airwolf killing his former "master." They emerged in unknown territory, physically worn. After several years of recovering from confinement and searching for their way home, parents and son became separated during a flash flood. He spent many years searching for them, then the Wolfgang, then elves in general. He finally finds Greatwater.
Airwolf is a wolf at heart, but appreciates the finer things, too. He is considered to be a touch dramatic, but it is nothing more than the normal wolfish exuberance. He has learned just what effects the wolf blood will have, and accepts it with a cavalier attitude. His basic philosophy is that no one really lives forever, he just knows it more than others, so enjoy what life he can, while he can. He's deeply proud of his wolf heritage, and doesn't hesitate to speak about it (probably to the discomfort of others). He recognizes a kindred spirit in Tinker, but isn't quite sure how to handle it at first, as she seems to know nothing about her wolf blood.
Despite his sword, Airwolf is not a killer. He hates trolls with a passion, but prefers to avoid them altogether. This is more out of respect for Melody and her gentle ways than his respect for life. If the situation calls for death, he deals it impassively. His emotions show on his face, and the bloodlust can be rather scary.
While not a flirt, if someone starts it, he's more than willing to play the game. Has a deep appreciate for the females, but doesn't like to talk about it with others. A master of the secret look and knowing smile. A firm believer in the inner beauty. The outer beauty is just frosting (of course he has several sweet teeth). His ability to keep secrets places him in a "Dear Abby" role, which he enjoys. The most he will do is tell what he would do. He refuses to make another's decision for them.
Airwolf's gliding is very powerful, but limited. He can glide himself with ease, and at rather high speeds, but is incapable of floating anyone or anything else. Between his natural agility and sharp senses, he is aware of almost everything around him, and doesn't hesitate to fly in a manner that borders on the suicidal. Gliding is a type of freedom the wolf can understand, and he seems more alive than usual. He learned somewhere that he can use his gliding to propel himself through the water, and is an excellent swimmer.
A born hunter, Airwolf relishes the chase. After an extremely satisfying hunt (or when he's feeling good), he'll glide into the air and howl his lungs out. He has at lest two scars in his rear end from human arrows because of this, but he won't stop. Loves children. Not above an occasional prank, he prefers to con someone else into doing the dirty work so he can have a ringside seat for the fun. Not above bragging about his gliding, but prefers to show his skill instead. Very flashy with his sword when practicing. He feels that his parents are still alive, and that he'll see them again one day.
At random times, Airwolf suffers a streak of pure savagery, generally in combat. It's not a mental disorder, but more like a "flashback." He's very quiet about it afterwards, and at least for a while refuses to open up about the "dark mood."
