OUTFIT MOST OFTEN WORN:PERSONALITY/HISTORY: Cheyvah's usually a level-headed, sensible and even-tempered elf; she can be infuriatingly calm in a crisis and takes a perverse joy in keeping her head when everyone around is losing theirs. A good organizer; she has a take-charge streak and can be rather bossy. Something of a skeptic, with a slightly sarcastic sense of humor. Makes a point of not being impressed by anything and taking the most shocking developments in stride (though she may go to her room and quietly freak out when no one's watching.) She's no less emotional than the rest of the family but is more likely to conceal those emotions under a facade of cool. Likes being in control of herself and her surroundings. Self-confident and prone to be a little dismissive of others' problems--someone pouring out their woes to her is more likely to get a "Well, why don't you do this?" than a sympathetic ear.
Born into a large and boisterous household, Cheyvah's assertive and direct about getting attention. Not at all subtle, but more because that's the way she was brought up than because she's not capable of it. She can be quite determined, and is more likely to expend that determination on simply getting her own way than most of the rest of her family. More verbally-oriented than her parents or her older sister; her stubborn fits are more likely to be expressed by vociferous argument than by just digging in her heels and refusing to budge.
She loves her family dearly but is not above making trenchant comments under her breath--or over it--at their occasional foibles. (**We have foibles?**) Not particularly tolerant of others who may do so, however. During her adolescence has some battles royal with her mother--the sort of annoying parent-child fights that aren't really about anything other than Cheyvah wanting to establish her independence. Has occasional serious thoughts of moving to Risingmist to be nearer her chosen work, and to carve out her own 'territory,' but so far hasn't acted on them; despite her grumbles, she really would miss her family if she left.
In childhood Cheyvah and her brother Kyeer fit the usual elven stereotype of twins fairly well, in being unusually mentally close--but once they hit puberty all bets were off. **Mother, Father, make him stop BOTHERING me!** Kyeer's militant lack of the social graces exasperates her. (Perversely, she often opines that her older brother Methyr is too much of a stuffed shirt.) She has a tendency to to order him around "for his own good", and will lecture him unmercifully about getting out more and meeting people and doing things and wearing something decent for a change. If anyone else makes any disparaging comments about her brother's manners or appearence, however, they're in for the hiding of their life, and Cheyvah's often the one to cozen Kyeer out of a sulk after he's inexplicably ticked someone off.
Of her siblings who live in Trailingstar, Cheyvah gets along best day to day with Peritha, but her whole family's well aware that Cheyvah's bark is worse than her bite. Her best friends tend to be humans; also gets along well with trolls. Thinks preservers are silly, but has learned to get around them.
