NEW HOPE CHARACTER PROFILE

CREATIVE CONTROL: Melissa Van Houten
NAME: Crystalmoth
SOUL NAME: Jreth
RACE: Cat-blooded elf
GENDER: Male
BIRTHDATE and/or APPROXIMATE AGE: NH -2725
ORIGIN: Crystal Falls Holt
HOUSEHOLD: Sea Runner

HAIR (color/length/style): Platinum blonde, occasional white streaks; shoulder-length and shaggy
EYES: Jade green
SKIN TONE: Fair to lightly tanned
HEIGHT: 5' 2"
BUILD: Slender and wiry; like a typical Tower elf
VOICE QUALITY/SPEECH MANNERISMS: A clear tenor/baritone with a slight trace of an accent (though what type of accent, no one is quite certain). His enunciation is deliberately precise and he never slurs his speech. Soft-spoken, he almost never raises his voice --except when his lifemate has been particularly provocative. Instead, he makes his displeasure known by lowering his voice and allowing it to become absolutely frigid.
OTHER PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES: Heightened hearing and night vision; moves with a fluid grace

PARENTS: Catscratch (father), Adalia (mother)
SIBLINGS: None
OTHER RELATIVES: He left them behind at Crystal Falls and doesn't talk much about them.
CURRENT MATE: Nightowl
RECOGNIZED: Yes
PREVIOUS MATES: Several, but none of any real importance
CHILDREN: Catspaw, Piper (sons)
CLOSEST FRIENDS: Calypso, Peysol, Bilge, others negotiable

SPECIAL TALENTS: Rockshaping, though he prefers working with gems and crystals
SKILLS: Storytelling, weaving, tatting, sewing, teaching, cooking, firemaking, healing, assorted forestry and survival skills, tracking, hunting, fishing, fencing, dancing, singing, humming, embroidery, dyeing, herbalism, metallurgy, speaking human, trading with trolls, some leadership skills. All done with the utmost in grace and dignity.
HOBBIES: Weaving, tatting, fencing, embroidery, singing
WEAPONS USED: Various functional knives, snares, a boomerang, a set of six darts kept in a belt pouch. He is learning to use both a spear/harpoon and a bow.
BOND-BEAST: None, though he arrived with a large male snowy owl named Luna.
JEWELRY WORN: A small gold crescent-moon pendant with a large tiger-eye at its center and a silver earcuff on is left ear.
CLOTHING: Summer: Generally soft and sensuous. Light cloth shirts, usually loose and flowing, often of a silk-like material; chamois-type leather breeches; occasionally a vest as well. Boots are calf to knee high, of boiled sealskin. When he's aboard ship, his shirts are more close-fitting (though not binding) and he adds a pair of thin gloves. Winter: Exchange light shirts for ones made of broadcloth or linen, always wears a vest or heavy leather jacket, often adds a hooded cloak.
OTHER SPECIAL POSSESSIONS: Some of his sculptures, his pendant, and as much as he hates to admit it, his lifemate.

PERSONAL INFO: Cool, but polite and generally friendly. Appears arrogant until you get to know him, then you realize it's only an ingrained dignity. It takes a LOT to ruffle his feathers. Doesn't show much in the way of strong emotion --though that's to say he doesn't feel it; refuses to be rushed. He's always in control of himself, if not the situation. Has an eye for beauty. Patient beyond belief, he's good with children and will almost always be a willing babysitter. Doesn't like to waste energy or movement. Efficient. In private, he's warmer, willing to give his all to those he cares about. In his own way, he would give the world to someone he loves. Gentle and tender for the most part, though he can be disdainful and annoyed with people and things he can't understand.

A very sensuous elf, everything he surrounds himself with is specifically designed to please the senses.

He has exceptionally sharp hearing and very good night vision. Speaks softly in a low tenor/baritone range. Facial features are angular, but sculpted rather than chiseled, almost effeminate as are many of his attitudes and actions. However, there is absolutely NO question about his gender. Sort of foppish and rakish at the same time, but neither is done consciously. Enigmatic.
