PERSONALITY: Pleasant, caring, sometimes passionate. Very sensitive to others, but also solitary at times, even serious and monastic. Likes fantasy, stories, metaphors, similies; the lyrical. Desires harmony, avoids conflicts. Will not be rude or hurtful; very open and guileless. Able to efface personality (good at acting, reciting stories, poems, helping others, taking orders, adaptability EXCEPT when his principles are in danger of being compromised).

He was a devoted father to Keldira, and mate to Wyn(as long as she cared to stay with him). He is very idealistic, believes in Honor and Sacrifice. Hypersensitive to the darkening of the Tower, his plays, poems, moods, etc. became increasingly gloomy and critical, without him truly comprehending what was happening on a conscious level. Certain references in his poetry began to seriously annoy Tyaar, and since Beliel was interested in eliminating all competition as a Rockshaper, Havrin became an obvious candidate for another 'Door' despite his relative harmlessness.

Havrin is intelligent, but not very logical or analytical: rather intuitive and subconsciously perceptive.  He has a strict moral code of personal values and is dedicated to the positive, the beautiful and the good. He is somewhat of a crusader against 'evil': more sad than angry at its presence, however. He does not believe others should follow his code, and never condemns. He also believes that with good, there is its opposite, and he has a fascination of sorts with what he views as the profane, and not a little of a martyr-complex. This played a part in his inability to censor his actions or recitals, even when he sensed danger. This also led to his initial attraction to Feyhr, whom he remains devoted to, even though they ceased being very close millennia ago. Despite loving Feyhr, Havrin prefers joining with females and has not joined with any other males. He tends to form deep and lasting relationships, dislikes casual joinings, and is very monogamous. He's more into the 'spritual' than the 'physical', really, so his attachment to Feyhr and Wyn--even though they've separated from him, and to Keldira, even though she is dead, is still strong and sustaining enough for him. This may not seem very realistic, but it suits him. It does not mean that he is blind to reality.  He knows all the quirks and qualities of Feyhr and Wyn; they just don't detract from his love for them, which is totally unconditional.

Enjoys festivals and parties--but not the type usually held during the 3rd Millennium.  Prefers quiet pursuits. Good conversationalist, gently witty. Used to be thrilled by 'communing with nature,' can still often be found meditating or wandering about the Tower, especially the Main Garden.  He is most known artistically for his dinner-ware designs, for the poem/song: "The Coming of Winter," and "The Last Blossom." Also, the plays based on the journeys of the High Ones before coming to the World of Two Moons: "The Currents of Infinity."

Havrin was Functionalized in mid-3rd mil after his political commentary angered Tyaar.  After being released from Functionalization upon Tyaar's death, he spent some years in New Hope with a number of the other ex-Functionals, recovering. He and Wyn renewed their mating for a time, but upon Wyn's death, he lifemated with Ahrien and returned to the Tower.

ELVES: Not prejudiced against non-Tower elves.
HUMANS: Treats as elves when he notices them--which he takes care to do. He is polite and thoughtful when making requests, etc. Warm enough to his personal servants. Interested in human pottery designs and techniques.
TROLLS: Has little to do with them, but treats them similarly to humans. He's aware of and disapproves somewhat of how the Mraal and the Troils are treated sometimes by others--and by the Tower in general, but this only surfaces in some of the themes of his works, since he tries to refrain from controversy, yet cannot compromise his values.
