Voice and Speech: Has a very distinctive voice, similar in tone to Annie Lennox (who owns a purrish alto) - same vocal range too, but she has never exercised much as a singer. As for mannerisms, keeps her voice low and quiet when she speaks, and would never raise it, out of fear of attracting attention to herself. No type of accent or distinctive speech impediment; sings much like Sinead O'Conner (think of Irish keening/banshee music. Woo woo)

Skills: A hairdresser and make-up artist, and a good manicurist. Costume design and construction is a favorite pastime for her and she often works with Peysol before big parties and festivals.  Is more than happy to lend a hand to Peysol when he needs extra needles in order to finish his own commissions (I am going to assume that she is never that busy with her designs sigh--living with a genius) Her costumes are heavily influenced by her daydreaming- instead of medieval variations and styles, Iys' work more similar to the 1918 - 1925's, Erte, etc.  In addition, Iys has learned to craft most of her own make-up materials, as well as craft fine brushes for hair and for make-up application.
Pastimes/Hobbies:       A consummate day dreamer.  She has toyed with fencing, throwing knives and target archery, and is best at the fencing - nothing really spectacular, but merely the results of centuries of practice.  She is a good dancer and will sometimes dance chorus when Mikail needs warm bodies, as well as practice with the troupe in order to work out.  She also secretly practices many of the Declared training routines, having been taught them by Evanda.
Weapons:        see hobbies/pastimes - most skilled with the foil
Jewelry:        Usually none, unless dressed up. Has one special piece of jewelry: a long string of milky-pale gems on a silk string, that she loves, made for her by Ban
Clothing:       No usual costume, although for day-to-day tasks she dresses simply. Will often wear one of her creations: art-deco/roaring Twenties in style (fringe, beads, headdresses, tight hats, etc.)
Personality/History:     Iys was born out of recognition to the Declared Jachin, who, already having given birth to two other daughters and wanting this one even less than the last, left most of the child's care to her firstborn, Rhesa. Abandoned, then, in essence by mother and her unknown father, Iys went through childhood craving affection.
In her younger days, Iys believed sex and emotional intimacy to be one and the same.  She was very kittenish-- very similar to Spago in her always wanting to be stroked, held, petted, etc.  At some point in the beginning of the third Millennium, she came to a sudden realization that she had the two confused, and that while she may have/had provided others with some fun, she was not getting what she wanted so badly.  And, futhermore, that few of the individuals surrounding her were capable (not to mention at all likely to want to) provide her with the one-on-one of the heart, soul, whatever that she was seeking.
After this point, Iys' kittenishness disappeared completely, and she made herself scarce from most all of the Tower's social life. Has few close friends after this, namely Evanda & Geibryl and, to a lesser extent, Hanlir and Spago.
After a later time, she and Evanda became  involved in 'anti-intrigues-, in interrupting various plots against their friends, and selves.  (And they are going to be their best to keep from getting caught in any way, of course) Soon after they started, Geibryl joined the duo.
Iys is a very quiet, cautious soul.  While having only an average intellect, Iys has developed uncannily accurate alarms when it comes to knowing when others wish to manipulate her.  Iys has a very fine, active imagination, and is qu quite a romantic in her dreams of a better world Outside or in the past or future of the Tower colony.  Painfully idealistic.  She prefers to avoid the intrigues and remain unnoticed in the woodwork, but has from times to time taken steps to protect herself and/or friends from other's plots.  Iys is not very emotional (visibly), and keeps most of her thoughts and feelings hidden, out of fear of punishment or criticism.   Will, at times, loosen up in the company of close friends.  However, her emotions have been repressed for centuries, and when Iys does lose her cool - the girl is volcanic! Gets depressive, hysterical, etc.  Tends to have one big blow, then mope for days.
Iys's deepest passion was to become one of the hawkriding Declared, but she views Lord Tyaar as the sole cause of the Tower's stagnation and doesn't want to take any vows to him.
Iys has a secret obsession with Jheredd, and has been observing him for over a thousand years.  Has figured out some of his personality--knows of his distaste for being touched, and thinks that his fop image is a cover for a wickedly devious mind.  Jheredd, especially after Iys and Evanda become partners in anti-intrgue, has become a role model for Iys.  Since her early 'Spago' days, she has carried the reputation of being a rather innocent, daydreaming piece of fluff, and she doesn't mind keeping the reputation up.
Iys is not much of a party-goer -- she avoids the 'group gropes' and sex parties with a passion, and only frequents the quieter sort of bashes, or will leave the larger ones before the silks start to fall off.  She is primarily attracted to males, but it takes a LOT of wooing from either sex to get her to join, unless the individual is someone whose attention cannot be safely spurned.  She does not like to be intoxicated, and avoids all types of intoxicants like the plague.
Iys goes through three different stages in the Tower.  The first is her party kitten stage, assumed in her early, formative years.  During this time, she is most effectively described as a teenybopper; into partying and any kind of attention, but shy and naive.  He second stage, and her longest, is her attempted retreat from the Tower's darkness and subsequent first anti-intriguing.  Here, she is quiet, avoids attention, and daydreams a lot.  Her third stage begins with Tyaar's death.  She goes a little crazy, becomes very fatalistic, heedless of her own safety, and passionately rebellious.  After Tyaar's death, Iys,  along with Evanda and Geibryl, begin to plan an internal rebellion in reaction to Beliel's assumed Lordship.
After Beliel's exile, Iys migrates to New Hope along with Evanda and Geibryl.  There she finally becomes a hawkrider; her first hawk is named Wishes.   After Evanda's and Geibryl's deaths in the Hostage Crisis, Iys returns to Tower Mountain.
