Special Talents: Healer. Has a good deal of raw power simply due to his generation, but is not as skilled in its use as some of the more dedicated New Hope healers; he has excellent intentions about improving his healing skills but lacks the patience to master them fully. Often acts as a "storage battery" in sending link with another healer. He can also mindlink with Piet, his soulbrother, and share his empathies to a sufficient extent to be able to heal humans -- something not every healer can do.  Mikail is capable of astral projection, but he has explored this Talent hardly at all.
Skills: Superb dancer and choreographer, though he does not have a lot of opportunity to practice these skills at New Hope.  Has mastered (or dusted off) a wide variety of practical skills: herbalism, tracking, foraging, riding, sailing, etc., anything that doesn't require him to sit still for too long. Personal Info:  Mikail was born in the Old Settlement.  He always wanted to be a glider, but never manifested the Talent.  He and Nalkor were fast friends from an early age and later became soulbrothers; they shared many adventures together.  Mikail began dancing young, taught by his mother and his grandfather Quixol, but it was not until the tribe settled in Tower Mountain that he was able to devote most of his time to dance, and created the dance troupe and the story-dances for which he is most famous.

Mikail’s healing talent manifested in mid-3rd Millennium.  Realizing that the discovery of his new Talent might put his life in danger, Mikail concealed it from everyone for some time, revealing it to Widget only when Mijo suffered a severe injury.

Mikail was one of the original leaders and guiding forces of the New Hope community, which he helped to found after refusing the lordship of Tower Mountain. He is somewhat wary of exercising power, however, and not really suited to it by temperament; he would rather throw his considerable (seemingly inexhaustible!) personal energy into simply living, and his art. Nevertheless his undeniable charisma and ability to inspire others' emulation make him a strong voice on the New Hope Council of Elders during the years he serves on it. What he believes, he believes with his whole heart, and he is more than capable of firing others with his own passions. His dance students in the Tower tended to hold him in admiration if not awe, and many of the younger elves and humans of New Hope feel the same way . . . but he is as oblivious to their adulation as he ever was in the Tower.

Sometime after NH 50 the glamor of building a new settlement begins to pall, and the lack of time to devote to dance begins to pall even more.  Mikail returns to Tower Mountain for a time in order to be able to practice his art once again, and then back to New Hope.  After several moves back and forth between the two settlements, the rest of the Whistleleaf elders request that he either stay in New Hope on a more regular basis or give up his position on the Council.  Mikail chooses the latter.

Mikail is one to set himself incredible standards, unexplainable to anyone else, and they go into his code of living, into his behavior, into everything. He is a stringent perfectionist. He has a strong sense of family, and is very protective of both friends and kin. He has a limited attention span, and is almost fidgety in his restless impatience to continually be doing or trying something new. Very intelligent, he absorbs and digests experience quickly and moves on. Even his closest friends have rarely if ever seen him relax. He is effusive, humorous, and fast-witted, a quick thinker whose mind is generally racing far ahead of his speech. A creature of moods, he can be frisky and endearing one day, submerged in dark gloominess the next. He hates to be analyzed, and does not want to be read by anyone -- though he himself is very good at reading body language.
