VOICE QUALITY:  tenor-light baritone, pleasant, well modulated, has a
ringing tone when in the grip of strong emotion.  A nice but not
spectacular singing voice; not much of a story teller, but a good one
when he is not feeling self conscious.
SPEECH PATTERNS:  even, mild, straight forward.  Prefers plain speaking and straight speech, has little patience for circumlocution.  Can be rather blunt when he is losing patience with someone or something.  Has a distinct "accent" to New Hope ears; probably sort of a "western"
drawl.
LANGUAGES KNOWN:  elvish (native); Archandonese (a devolved elvish patois with lots of borrow words from the other human languages), trade patois (a sort of pidgin elvish/Gash Canyon cross with lots of borrow
words from the other human languages), conversant in Gash Canyon and
Grass Hat tongues.  When he arrives in New Hope, he will learn
"Hope-ese" fairly quickly because he knows half of it and being a fairly
smart fellow able to figure out the rest from context.
DRESS:  close fitting jacket, trousers, shirt, boots outfits; soft
pants, loose shirt, widebrimmed hat when in Rivermouth; party clothes
similar to flight dress but more flamboyant and elaborate; winter
clothes add layers and coat when grounded
ORNAMENTS:  bright colors and embroidery, shell earrings and fiber
bracelet, Recognition gifts from Sea Traveller.  Several years after his
arrival in New Hope, Silvercloud gets his ears pierced and small gold
rings put in.
BONDBEAST:  series of great birds; first a female named Rayten Sun Hawk for her yellowish coloring and cheerful disposition; as of arrival in New Hope a male named Yelloweyes, gold eyes, white head, barred wings and tail, fierce, proud, top bird in the aerie
 Note:  these birds are of a different species than Tower birds.
They're smaller and don't have the head crest and tend to be wilder.  TBD if Silvercloud bonds with a New Hope hawk after Yelloweyes' death.
WEAPONS:  spear, net or sling, knife; can use most other weapons
MAGIC:  sending, slight levitation of self only
OCCUPATION:  bird rider and messenger
SKILLS:  good survival, some sea survival, ride bird, hunt, track,
learning swimming and sailing, some fish, sing, dance, navigate by stars
or landmarks, armed and unarmed fighting skills, especially knife.  Has
learned a smidgeon of animal communication in order to communicate with
his bird.  Reads and writes Archandon script on a third grade or so
level.
HISTORY:  Steelwise and Sword's Edge's child of Recognition and raised by them, taught by Sword's Edge who was determined to make a fighter of him, Little Knife found refuge in the birds' tower and developed a fascination for the great birds.  The bird riders found him a willing gofer and listener for their problems and adopted him into their ranks, a position that became real when Little Knife bonded his own hatchling. Finding something to anchor his life to, Little Knife joined the messenger corps, told his mother enough was enough and took the name Silvercloud in honor of the occasion.  He became good friends with Little Hawk who invited him to Rivermouth to meet the rest of her family, where he fitted right in.  Surprised and embarrassed to Recognise Sea Traveller, he would have quietly gone away had the others not said nonsense and held a great party to celebrate his becoming a part of the group.  The year after Sea Traveller disappeared at sea, Silvercloud and Yelloweyes were lost in a great storm over Gash Canyon, their bodies never found.
  Later, after much wandering, Silvercloud and Yelloweyes were caught in a great storm--Hurricane Hugo--and tossed up on New Hope's beach.  Since Yelloweyes was badly hurt by the storm, Silvercloud decided to stay. Then he met Wolfstorm and the rest is history.
PERSONALITY:  a bit insecure and dependent on his loved ones, joyful and happy in their presence, positive and friendly; embarrassed by his fighting skills and in awe of Stormcaller's pride and skill in hers; loves his adoptive family very much.  Due to his early training, he has a distinct "male rivalry" aspect to his personality.

  Contrary to initial impression, Silvercloud is not constantly and totally violent!  In daily life, he is polite, reasonable if a little stiffnecked, civil to anyone, pleasant and helpful.  He does play every hard and never pulls punches in weapons or combat practice.  He also fights "dirty".  It's only when he and Wolfstorm are within sight and scent of each other does he lose semblence of reason and then his rage is only focussed on Wolfstorm.  He is not any more dangerous to the community than anyone else.
 
Remains aloof from much of New Hope society, refusing to join a Household because he feels it would be a betrayal of his 'real' family.
