Personal History: Twill was born about 19 years before the Hostage Crisis began. He took an interest early on in his father's sand-painting. This quickly led him to playing with anything that had to do with mixing colors and placing things in patterns. The looms caught his interest early on, and he proved himself a quick study, becoming adept at many aspects of weaving, thread-spinning, and related arts.
There has never been any question in his mind about working with weaving and clothmaking as his calling in life. He never paid much attention to the politics in the Hidden Valley. He knew his father and his father's soulmate, Lizardtongue, were stormriders, and that his sister was a warrior in the ground forces, and that the two High Ones, the Earthshaker and the Stormrider, led the tribes who now called the Hidden Valley their home. He is familiar with the old stories of the Brightcolor Desert, and he respects the Peace Chief, War Chief, and Dreamberry Keeper, but he has had little contact with them.
He didn't really understand what was going on (other than a food shortage) when he was suddenly told one day to teach some of the "hostages" how to use the looms "But don't talk to them beyond that!" He took an instant dislike to one of the elves set as a supervisor over the prisoners, Ebonwolf. By the end of the first day with the hostages, he had fallen head over heels in love with Chimreh. He also found Peysol to be an interesting and friendly person. Unfortunately, his shyness around Chimreh makes the very few conversations they manage to have brief and stumbling, and the vigilant eyes of the guards keep him from getting to know any of the hostages well.
He secretly dreamed of finding a way to rescue the hostages (such dreams
almost always, of course, end with Chimreh showing her gratitude afterwards,
although sometimes the daydreams end with his horrific death). TBD
if Twill was involved in the eventual escape of the hostages; in any case,
several years after the end of the Hostage Crisis, Twill came to New Hope
and quietly attached himself to Chimreh. Somewhat worried that Chimreh
saw him as a child, Twill was determined to convince her that he'd grown
past his adolescent daydreams. The two of them became lovemates,
and later, upon the birth of their first child, lifemates.
