BACKGROUND/PERSONALITY:
Self-motivated, diligent, infinitely patient, quietly ambitious and political. Had difficulty tolerating emotional scenes or anything that suggested instability, disorder, or chaos. In love with Tyaar since she was an adolescent. Only recently were they both relationship-free. She came to Tyaar's notice by performing a highly erotic dance for him that she had spent eights patiently working on. The Tower Lord succumbed willingly enough to her seduction having found her quite attractive since she had spent the time since Tascha's departure gradually transforming herself as closely as possible into his idea of the perfect female.
Generally well thought of; far more political than she appeared. Status was very important to her. Before her liaison with Tyaar, Wyn had been working her way through just about any of the Declared that would have her (male and female) and befriending the rest. Although her basic motivation for seducing Tyaar was love, she also thought that he needed more than a consort or lovemate, he needed someone to confide in and rule by his side. Being on good terms with the Declared was part of her way of preparing for her future role as Lady of Tower Mountain. Non-Declared seldom held her attention unless she liked them personally or they were friends or relations of someone Declared.
Family, children especially, were important to Wyn. Her duties toward her children and her belief in the family were what held her to her lifemating with Havrin for so long. Though she gradually came to love Havrin, she loved Tyaar first and was incapable of lavishing on someone else the same type and intensity of love.
Daughter Keldira was much like Wyn in personality if not in looks, and they were fairly close, treating each other as best friends and equals early on.  Meiji, when young, was more like Havrin in personality though she strongly resembled her mother physically. Wyn and Meiji continually rubbed together the wrong way having different priorities, but Wyn determinedly looked out for her daughter's welfare. Keldira's death at the Sundering struck Wyn hard and she saw Meiji as a replacement, at first.
As tribe mid-wife, Wyn delivered a large percentage of the current Tower residents as well as several of the Old Settlement (including lifemate, Havrin). She has a great love of children and a belief that children should be treasured. The slow cessation of births in the Tower bothered her especially and she was thrilled to find herself pregnant with Tyaar's child. As a midwife, she knew the signs and excitedly told Meiji, pointing out the signs. She went to Tyaar for confirmation and they enjoyed a night of celebration.  Elated with her pregnancy and feeling that carrying Tyaar's child would cement her position as his Lady, Wyn grew careless enough to let some of her ideas slip to Tyaar rather than letting them come about gradually.
Tyaar was furious at her ambitions and at her attempt to "replace" his beloved, highly idealized dead daughter, Wisprian. (Something she hadn't intended, having realized with Meiji that deceased children cannot be replaced.) She spent just about her entire pregnancy enthralled and hidden in Tyaar's chambers. Most of her illusions about Tyaar were shattered the few times he awoke her (mostly to torture her). She still loved him and was willing to drop every misbegotten plan she ever had if he would just keep her as occasional bedmate, but he was angry enough not to let her speak or send in her defense.
She worried about what he would do to the child she bore on those times she was awake. The last time he awoke her was after the birth of Chenir (she never got to see her and was afraid to ask about her). She was tortured by Beliel and Tyaar, healed at least a day later, and then descended into blessed oblivion while Tyaar tinkered with her mind in order to turn her into "Vision".
As Vision, Wyn had a special niche above the main eyrie and was used very much like a telescope-by-sending.  She was awakened with all the other Functionals after Tyaar's death, and was devastated to realize that Tyaar was dead, Chenir was a stranger who considered Shadaln her mother, and her remaining daughter Meiji was gone, presumably dead.  She moved to New Hope with several other ex-Functionals, including Havrin, with whom she renewed her lifemating, and spent her time trying to come to terms with living again and trying to build some sort of realtionship with Chenir.  She acted as midwife for Risingmist household, and eventually got several major happy surprises when, first, Jheredd returned with Meiji, and later, her long-lost grandfather Jauren showed up.  She lived contentedly in New Hope until she died in NH 41, trying to save several children when a sea monster attacked the settlement.
